Uncover a Company's Full Taxonomy with New Reference Report

This week, the Walt Disney Company reported an 11% rise in its Q3 earnings. A quick glance at its GICS classification would tell you that the company operates in the Consumer Discretionary industry. A closer look, however, using the new Reference report within FactSet's Company/Security tab, reveals that Disney operates in more than 20 different lines of business, including Leisure Goods, Cruise Lines, Educational Services, and Radio.

FactSet's Reference report provides a detailed, 360-degree view of the taxonomy for 46,000 publicly traded companies. Use each tile within the report to gain a granular perspective of a company's industry taxonomy, its real lines of business, and the specialty sectors in which it operates.

  • Industry Breakdown: Explore how the industry taxonomy of a company differs across FactSet, GICS, ICB, NAICS, and SIC
  • Revere Hierarchy: Investigate a company's primary and secondary lines of business, including those representing less than 50 percent of the company's revenue
  • Related Securities: View a company's related securities, arranged by type, as well as contextual data such as equity identifiers, share classes, and trading histories
