Quickly view market and enterprise value trends and their methodology in company reports

Data Science and AI

By FactSet Insight  |  October 17, 2013

FactSet Company Reports now feature additional transparency into Market Value and Enterprise Value numbers. The new sparkline charts allow you to easily view trends while the methodology section breaks down the calculation. Depending on the firm’s share class, up to four versions of the market value calculation is displayed.

In addition to the new displays, the market value formula used across all FactSet Company reports is now the same in order to provide consistency. This formula returns the company-level total market value, and is a sum of the individual market values of all related common shares, preferred equity shares, and non-traded shares (if specified). This change is reflected in all reports that include market value such as Company Snapshot as well as the Key Items tile in Company Guide.
