Access Direction of Trade Statistics (DOTS) data from the IMF via the FactSet Economics database. DOTS data presents current figures on the value of merchandise exports and imports according to a country's primary trading partners. It includes area and world aggregates in the display of trade flows between major areas of the world, and supplements reported data by estimates whenever such data is not available or current. Imports are reported on a Cost, Insurance, and Freight (CIF) basis and exports are reported on a Free on Board (FOB) basis. The exceptions are a few countries for which imports are also available FOB.

The IMF Direction of Trade Statistics database covers 187 countries and additional trade data for regions around the world. The database contains monthly, quarterly, and annual data, with coverage from 1980. IMF updates the database monthly.

FactSet clients can access DOTS data under the IMF database category in Series Lookup and Economic Analysis Charting (@EAC).
