Data Science and AI

By FactSet Insight  |  October 2, 2013

FactSet Blackline Reports automatically compare incoming filings (all 10-Ks, 20-Fs, and 10-Qs) with the previous filing and highlights additions, changes, and deletions. This report allows you to efficiently compare changes in a period’s filing, as well as identify differences between the documents so you can focus on sections with new information. The updated Blackline Reports are now available in the News (@N) display. To quickly view the latest available reports, filter your news source to "FactSet Blackline Report".

In addition to the new user-friendly format, the following are some key enhancements that are available with the updated FactSet Blackline Reports in News:

  • Table of Contents navigation that makes it easier to read a single section or table in the report; press CTRL+B to display and hide the Table of Contents
  • Inline comparisons that allow you to scan the report faster than ever
  • Tables that remain in place for quick referencing and are no longer placed at the end of the report
  • Added or deleted text that is highlighted throughout the report to help you identify what matters most: green marks all new sentences, while red indicates deleted text
